What got you into photography?

When I was 2 years old, I remembered my parents gave me a toy camera for Christmas because I wanted to be just like my dad.  I grew up watching him use a SLR camera and he would develop all his films, hand picked his photos, and turned them into a beautiful drawing. My dad was an amazing artist!

How long have you been a photographer?

As a hobby and for fun, since I was 5 years old! But professionally, since 2010.

What do you love about photography?

I love photography because the world is my canvas, the subject is my art, my camera is my paint brush, and it is what I use to paint a beautiful image with light.  Photography means more than just taking “picture” to me.  I don’t take pictures  just to take “pictures”,  it is the chance for me to bring out my artistic vision through my photographs.

What do you consider a successful photo session?

I love the very first impression I get from my clients!  When that first photo I snap shows up on my monitor, their eyes light up and in awe.  (Note: This is straight off the camera too! Not even edited yet.  So, imagine when I take my work to post production!)  That in itself is already a successful photo session to me.

Why do you specialize in newborn photography?

It all started with my newborn baby brother. He was so tiny and so cute! My newborn baby brother grew up so fast and I wished my dad had taken photos of him when he was still fresh. Newborn facial feature changes everyday because they grow so fast. Looking back now, I wished I had those memories of when he was tiny. Through out my photography career, I’ve done numerous sessions of engagements, weddings, events, headshots, families, children, and babies.  I then realize that I love and enjoy working with babies and children a lot more!  They make me so happy!

Why do you specialize in children photography?

Children are so full of innocence, care-free, and happiness! They just make my heart melt <3

Why do you specialize in family photography?

When I was younger, I wish I had more photographs of my mom, dad, siblings, and myself together.  When ever I get clients who requests for family sessions, I am more than happy to plan out a custom family session because I personally believe it’s very important to capture these moments whenever you can.

Did you have any professional training in photography?

I graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts.  Major in Photography & Minor in Graphic Design.

What do you do in your free time and for fun?

Traveling to Japan, Disneyland, foodventures, spending time with family and friends, photo capturing, photo editing, boba runs, and play with my dog and cat!

Are you a mom?

I’m not a mom but I’ve taken care of my 3 younger siblings starting when I was 5 years old.  My dad was sick with kidney failure and my mom worked a lot to support us.  I ended up taking care of my siblings from the day they were each brought home from the hospital. To this day, my siblings still calls me “mom” from time to time. :’)

Tell us about your pets Daisy and Luna!

Luna is our little 8 lb cat. She is 7 years old and is the most sweetest cat you’ll ever meet. She’s very passive and very shy. When there are new people around she will hide in our bedroom closet upstairs.

Daisy is our 8 lb hypo-allergenic maltipoo dog (maltese/poodle). She is 3 years old and such a cutie pie! She is a ball of energy and loves to give you lots of kisses. She never goes outside because she’s allergic to grass and pollen. She dislikes peanut butter! But, she LOVES bananas and cheese.
